It's almost here!
What have I done!!!!

Welcome to my blog called 'Run Tharen Run'.
This is to update all my family and friends...and I guess the curious...about my 10km run at Disney!!!

I've said for a while I'd like to do it. 
I love the medals.  I admit....I want a medal.  I've never gotten a medal in my life!
I did...one time...win a trophy for being a mascot for our Dragon Boat team.  I was Thor.  I rocked it!  But I don't own that trophy....so really....this is my prize!

So, I want a medal.  Need incentive to get to the gym.....and I like Disney....I'm having a little midlife crisis with '40' in sight.....so I did it.  Signed up to run the 10km run.  I signed up alone.  I was determined.  Then, my good friend....hmm...not sure if she wants to be named...so until I find out...we'll call her Smulie.  My good friend Smulie said she'd come too....but alas...it was sold out.  My most awesome husband....we'll call him Pookie (just kidding, lets call him Dwight)...found her a spot with a running group!  AWESOME!!!   So now it's a girls trip!!!

We have trained....and I have to say Smulie and my other good friend, Sally, have been AMAZING!!!!! at helping me out.  Supportive and just super super super awesome. 

Anyway, so months of training and I'm up to running 7km.  Good news is I'm not huffing and puffing when we stop.  Just...content....and sweaty!  Yeah baby!  Sweaty!!!  :)

The run is Friday.  We fly out Wednesday.  Driving to the airport in 23 hours.  I have so much to do.....I'm freaking out!!!  I'm excited!!!  I'm scared!!!  I'm anxious!!!   Ack!!!

But I want to document as well.  Those who know me know that my memory is...well...not amazing...so if I try to blog along the way...I'll remember more...is the hope.  Plus I love that Smulie's husband has done this idea a few times.  I loved reading his adventures.  So Smulie's husband...hope you are ok I stole your idea!!!

So, wish me luck on packing and getting stuff ready to go!
